Drive A — Tipper Truck
Learn safe tipper truck driving, load securing, and controlled offloading for bulk material transport. Train in Pretoria Central over 5 days — 2 days of theory and 3 days of hands-on practical training on-site — with QCTO-aligned certification recognised across mining, construction, and logistics.
Our Tipper Truck Driver Training course gives you the practical skills to transport and offload bulk materials safely and efficiently. Whether you're hauling aggregate for a construction project, moving material on a mine site, or running deliveries for a logistics operator, this 5-day intensive course prepares you for real-world demands.
The course is split into two days of classroom theory — covering vehicle systems, load securing, controlled tipping procedures and road safety regulations — followed by three full days of hands-on practical training, driving a real tipper truck on-site under close instructor supervision. This structure gives you enough repetition on the road to build genuine confidence before your final assessment.
Tipper Truck training is one of sixteen machine and vehicle operator courses offered under our Mining & Machinery training field, alongside programmes such as ADT Dump Truck, Water Cart Operator, and Competent B training. Many students combine Tipper Truck with a related haulage course to broaden their employability.
The course also covers weighbridge procedures, defensive driving in mixed traffic, and daily vehicle inspection routines — giving you the complete skill set employers expect from a certified tipper truck driver. If you're weighing up training options beyond machinery, DT Academy also offers Lifting Machinery, Security Training, and Health & Safety courses from the same Pretoria Central campus.
